Magpul Smartphone Case

The Best American Made Phone Cases & Screen Protectors

By Matt Mullins updated November 18, 2020

The search is over. We’ve found truly great iPhone, Galaxy, and Pixel cases made in the USA. From affordable and practical to gorgeous custom wood phone cases, American craftsmen and women have you covered. Plus we found excellent American made screen protectors that even conform to rounded edges.

WUDN Phone Cases

WUDN handcrafts their iPhone and Samsung Galaxy cases with premium wood designs in Hidden Springs Idaho, USA. They look fantastic; I’d have thought they cost more than their $29 and under asking price. A variety of all wood inlay or wood/resin designs are available to suit any style. As far as the phone models covered: WUDN makes cases for iPhones 6 up to and including the iPhone 11, 11 Pro, and 11 Max models, and Galaxy S7 cases up through the S10, S10 Plus, and Note 10. The latest iPhone 12, Galaxy S20, and Note 20 cases should follow shortly.

Magpul Cases for iPhones and Samsung Galaxy Phones

I trust my own phone with a Magpul Case. These cases are comfortably thin to slip into your pocket, textured for a better grip, and offer good shock protection from falls. Cutouts for the buttons, mic, charging cable, and camera are precise and don’t distort sounds like many Otterbox and LifeProof cases tend to do. Magpul iPhone and Galaxy Cases are practical, inexpensive, and come in a variety of colors to satisfy the manly and the girly…

The cases pictured above are for the iPhone 6/6s. Magpul also makes cases for the iPhone 4/4s, 5/5s, SE, 6 Plus, 7, iPhone 7 Plus, 8 Plus and iPhone X; as well as the Samsung Galaxy S4, S5, S6, S6 Edge, S7, S7 Edge, S8, S9, and S9+.

Carved Phone Cases

Carved provides stylish wood and colorful resin inlaid iPhone, Samsung Galaxy, and Google Pixel cases. I haven’t personally tried any Carved cases, but they look great and receive consistent high reviews. Besides their high value yet classy wood panel phone cases, they also handcraft beautiful limited edition solid wood cases. Their custom solid wood cases are only available through Carved.com, otherwise you can find phone cases by Carved through Amazon. They craft wood iPhone 11 and X cases made in the USA as well as wooden cases for the iPhone Xs, Xr, Samsung S9, S10, Google Pixel 3, Pixel 3 XL, and the Huawei P30 and P20.

ArmorSuit MilitaryShield Screen Protectors

ArmorSuit makes excellent screen protectors for many of the latest smartphones and tablets including all iPhones, Galaxy S-everythings, iPads, LG phones, Pixel, etc. ArmorSuit isn’t made of rigid tempered glass but a military grade film that “self heals” minor scratches and conforms to the curves and rounded edges of newer phones like those of the Galaxy S10 and S20. I’m very pleased with my ArmorSuit Screen Protector, though I must note that I smartly keep my phone in a pocket alone (not with scratchy keys and such). The unique application process results in a clear, bubble free application, unlike many other protectors I’ve tried (follow their video directions). If you’re getting an Armorsuit Screen Protector to use in combination with a phone case then make sure to get the “case friendly” version which allows more room for the edges of the case. I haven’t had any issues with mine after three years of everyday use. However, if I do then ArmorSuit provides a lifetime warranty.
